Judgment liens file with the Department of State on Sunbiz, not on floridaucc.com. Real-property mortgages record at the county. Three clerks. Do not mix them.
Search logic is exact debtor legal name. A 2024 Florida Law Review study found 32% of filings against registered organizations ineffective for name errors alone. Type the Sunbiz name.

Watch

  • Debtor name is the search. LoPucki, Florida Law Review 76: 32% of FSTR filings against registered organizations were ineffective for name errors under Florida's zero-tolerance test. Use the exact Sunbiz legal name, including suffixes.
  • Privatized registry. DOS privatized filing and maintenance effective 1 Oct 2001. Florida UCC, LLC runs floridaucc.com. The clerk of the statute is still chapter 679.
  • Seller-carry notes. A recorded PMM is a county instrument. A UCC-1 against business assets or a note as chattel paper is this registry — if the debtor name is right. Sit next to Seller-Carry Protocol.
